Many are unsure who they could turn to for business advice and guidance if their business did come under pressure. One in six would hope for industry specific help from their trade or business association, while 11% say they might turn to Business Links and 7% to Chambers of Commerce.
While the names of these support organisations are widely known, the knowledge about the breadth of support they offer is much more shallow. A third of those questioned said they did not know what Business Links did. For those who did hold an opinion, many thought their support was only for smaller growing businesses, or was about local networking. Three quarters of those interviewed did not know where their local Business Link was based.
